“Frida” Comes Alive on Stage at Whittier College

The life of one of the 20th century’s most intriguing women will be examined in Frida Kahlo, presented by Grupo de Teatro Sinergia and Frida Kahlo Theatre on Thursday, Oct. 23, in the Ruth B. Shannon Center for the Performing Arts at Whittier College.

Tickets to the performance, which begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be completely in Spanish, are $5.  Tickets are available by calling the Shannon Center Box Office at (562) 907-4203.

The show, written and directed by Ruben Amavizca, has been called a kaleidoscope of images analyzing the person behind the artist, the woman, the political activist, the passionate lover, the wife and the legend that are all Frida Kahlo.

Located 18 miles east of Los Angeles, Whittier College is an independent, four-year college offering traditional liberal arts majors and strong pre-professional programs taught in the context of the liberal arts.  Whittier Law School, which is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools, is located on a separate campus in Costa Mesa.
