'Steppin’ Out With By Baby –The Songs of Irving Berlin"
Linda Purl and Lee Lessak
The Shannon Center is proud to present Broadway and television star Linda Purl ("The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," "Born Free," "Happy Days," "Matlock," "The Office") and veteran lyric baritone Lee Lessack (whom the Chicago Tribune calls 'the best male cabaret singer since Michael Feinstein") for a powerhouse evening of America"s favorite songs by Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, Irving Berlin. Why Irving Berlin? Here's what some other guys who wrote a song or two had to say: composer George Gershwin called him 'the greatest songwriter that has ever lived" and composer Jerome Kern concluded that 'Irving Berlin has no place in American music - he is American music."
