Barnstone Publishes Books of Poetry

Pulp Sonnets, Tony Barnstone, Whittier College, PoetryProfessor of English Language and Literature Tony Barnstone recently published Pulp Sonnets, a book of graphic poetry based on 20 years of research into Gothic literature, B movies, comic books, sensation novels, and pulp fiction.

He also published Monster Verse a compilation of poems about what makes us human—and monstrous, humane and inhumane—a collection of mermaids and witches, serial Tony Barnstone, Whittier College, English, Poetrykillers and giants, dragons and fairy kings, from Homer to the present day.

This past spring, Barnstone was awarded a 2015 Summer Stipend from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) for his study The Religion of Science and the Religion of Art: William Carlos Williams and the Machine Age Modernists. This stipend provided financial support for research and writing.
