Alumna Receives Fulbright-Nokia Distinguished Chair

Alumna Carol TenopirAlumna Carol Tenopir '74, a regarded scholar in library and information sciences has been selected as the Fulbright-Nokia Distinguished Chair in Information and Communications Technologies for the 2016-2017 academic year.  Tenopir currently serves as Chancellor's Professor and the CCI Board of Visitors Professor at University of Tennessee, Knoxville's School of Information Sciences.

Since the first appointment in 2010–2011, only eight scholars have been awarded this Distinguished Chair position. Tenopir will be the first from University of Tennessee to receive the honor and the first woman. The position is considered one of the most prestigious appointments in the Fulbright Scholar Program.

Tenopir was instilled with tremendous Poet pride by her late father, former dean of admissions and director of financial aid George K. Tenopir '48, '49.
