Theatre Students Invited to Compete at Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival

Stella Gordon, Whittier CollegeWhittier College students Stella Gordon '15 (Rosalind), Lauren Vau '16 (Celia), and Ruben Sanchez '18 (Charles the Wrestler and Silvius), who starred in the recent production of As You Like It,  have been nominated to participate in the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship competition at the 2016 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Stage manager Katryna Dillard '15  was also recognized and earned a Meritorious Achievement Award for her work on this production.  

The 48th Annual Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival will be held at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and Chaminade University of Honolulu on February 11-14, 2016.  The Poets have been invited to bring a series of scenes and monologues to compete with other performance students (both undergraduate and graduate actors) in Region VIII, which includes schools from Hawaii, Guam, Southern California, Utah, Nevada, and Arizona. Every year, the festival brings together students and faculty to encourage, recognize, and celebrate the finest and most diverse work produced in university and college theater programs.
