LINK+ is a free, easy, and convenient book request service that allows users at over 50 participating academic and public libraries to submit requests that are not available at our own institution.
After a Wardman Library user initiates a LINK+ request, a courier delivers the requested book(s) to the library for checkout, generally in two to four days. Loan periods are 21 days with 1 renewal.
Use the library catalog (http://library.whittier.edu/) to search and request items via Link+. You will need to enter your name and barcode number found on the back of your Whittier ID card to enter a request.
The library will e-mail your Whitter College email account when items are available for pick-up. Please come to the Circulation Desk on the main floor to retrieve materials. Items not picked up within 10 days will be returned. Fines for overdue materials are $1.00/day per book and $115 for items that are lost, missing, or in need of replacement.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is used to request journal articles or books that are not available via LINK+. This service is available to all currently enrolled students, faculty and staff at Whittier College.
Books are sent through the mail and may take 2 or more weeks to arrive. Articles are usually e-mailed, however books and articles that are not available in an electronic format are also mailed. Please contact the library 5 days prior to due date to request renewals for physical items.
Use the library catalog (http://library.whittier.edu/) to request items via ILL. Make sure items are not available via LINK+ or that Wardman Library does not already own the item. You will need to enter your name and barcode number found on the back of your Whittier ID card to enter a request.
The library will send articles directly to your Whittier College email account or notify you via e-mail when items are available. Please come to the Circulation Desk on the main floor to retrieve physical materials. Fines for overdue items are $1.00/day per book.
