Book Library Instruction
Library instruction sessions are designed to acquaint students with library, campus, and surrounding community resources. All instructions are designed to strengthen students' ability to identify, locate, and evaluate the best available resources while increasing information literacy skills. Instructions work best when conducted prior to or at the beginning of a research assignment. Assigned subject librarians will tailor presentations to fit the needs of your course. Faculty collaboration with librarians is strongly encouraged.
Instructional sessions can include the following:
- How to locate and identify books, articles, and media resources
- Research methodologies for general and specific fields
- How to distinguish between scholarly and non-scholarly periodicals
- How to construct citations in APA, MLA, and Chicago style format
- How to utilize Moodle
- Tour of the library
To request an instruction, please fill out the form below. Your instruction will NOT be scheduled until you have been contacted by a librarian and received confirmation.
