Academic Advising

CAAS’ Advising Resource Center is dedicated to the pursuit of academic excellence. Our goal is to help students learn the meaning and value of a liberal arts education and assist them in the development of meaningful educational, career, and life plans.

Whittier College's advising model is faculty based with its foundation in the educational partnership between the student and the advisor. We support students and faculty by providing additional opportunities for teaching and learning of the advising process.

What students derive from four years of study at Whittier College depends in large measure on careful planning. The Advising Resource Center can help you:

  • Explore academic interests and aspirations
  • Build your course schedules and register for classes
  • Provide an overview of academic policies
  • Assist students who are on probation support
  • Provide the necessary resources to help you succeed

Additionally, the Advising Resource Center hosts a number of workshops and events each semester to provide students – especially first-year students - with assistance in major exploration and educational and career planning.
