SportsFest

A winning SportsFest team takes a victory lap around the Upper Quad.Get your friends, neighbors, and classmates together for the biggest intramural sports competition Whittier College has to offer. T-shirts and serious bragging rights are up for grabs at the annual 3-day SportsFest competitions! Loosely based on the Olympics, teams comprised of athletes and non-athletes come together each November to build community spirit and participate in traditional sporting events, more alternative competitions, and service events.

From soccer, basketball, and softball games to board games, video games, and events that incorporate the SportsFest theme—as in the 2006 Quidditch Match (from the theme "Johnny Poet & the Sorcerer's Stone"), or the 2007 Capture-the-Flag battle and Swashbuckler's Pageant (from pirate-themed "Quest for the Booty")—SportsFest participants boast a wide array of talent and skills. And competition doesn't stop there; SportsFest service events are equally "challenging," as teams gather canned food and monetary donations for local charities, and participate in a blood drive with the American Red Cross.
