Latina Alumnae Mentorship Program (L.A.M.P.)
About the Program
Begun by recent alumna and young professional Rosemary Donoyan '05, the Latina Alumnae Mentorship Program (L.A.M.P.) engages both Hispanic female students and alumni of Whittier College in order to provide collaborative opportunities that foster community involvement, self empowerment, and career development. Through leadership workshops, guest speakers, networking events, and informal mentoring, L.A.M.P.'s primary objective is to prepare and encourage young, Latina Whittier students to set—and reach—ambitious career goals by engaging with alumnae professionals that share similar backgrounds and cultures. Whittier alumnae involved in L.A.M.P. provide critical career guidance to young women following in their footsteps, while their mentees are able to develop marketable skills that help them excel both professionally and personally.
Currently, Donoyan is assisted in program management by fellow recent alumnae Nadia Medina '08 and Sophi Cervantes '07.
