This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Michael Shermer, science historian, science writer, and founder of The Skeptics Society. During the ceremony, Dr. Shermer will himself receive an honorary doctorate of humane letters (LL.D.) from Whittier College.

The student speaker will be Leovijilda "Leovi" Nunez '08, of South Gate, California.
