About
Campus Views
Located at the crossroads of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, Whittier College is housed on 74 sloping acres, nestled among the La Puente Hills and on the eastern side of historic and quaint Uptown Whittier.
Characterized by outdoor expanses of green lawns, towering palms and other trees indigenous to Southern California, and impressive vistas—some of which stretch all the way to the Pacific Ocean—the campus has been constructed in Mediterranean and modern architectural styles. A campus icon since the 1920s is the Rock, which was installed by senior pranksters and is daily painted by student organizations, who make reservations far in advance for the privilege.
