Requirements for Transfer Students
Students who have successfully completed college-level course work at an accredited two-year or four-year institution are eligible to apply for transfer to Whittier College:
If you have a high school diploma or GED, there is no minimum credit requirement prior to transferring.
The results of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Test (ACT) will be required if the candidate has not completed at least 30 transferrable academic units.
As a transfer student, you may apply for entrance in the Fall or Spring term. We encourage you to choose the option that best fits your ideal educational plan.
While not required, we highly recommend all applicants visit campus and schedule an Information Session and Campus Tour. You can also speak with an admission counselor after the tour if you have any questions or would like to discuss your application in more detail.
For Fall candidates, priority for admission, scholarship, and financial aid will be given to those who complete their application files by July 15. For Spring candidates, priority will be given to those who complete their files by December 1.
Admission decisions, as well as scholarship and financial aid eligibility notifications, are sent on a rolling basis to qualified applicants. Students who are offered admission to the College receive an official evaluation of the transferability of their completed college-level course work shortly after the offer of admission is made.
