Senior Spotlight: Cameron Gray '24 sets his sights sky high

Cameron Gray is getting ready to trade his catcher’s mitt for an airline captain’s controls.

Cameron Gray ’24Between baseball, pilot training, and hitting the books, the business administration major from Bloomington, Indiana, has had a busy four years. In addition to playing baseball and studying, Gray enjoys scuba diving, videography, photography, and fitness. He is active in several campus organizations, including the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, Poet Student-Athlete Leadership Academy, and Business Club, and he is passionate about supporting his peers. 

“I am a huge advocate for mental health, especially among athletes,” he said.

We asked him a few questions about his life as a Poet and plans for the future. 

What's next for you after graduation?

I will be attending Blue Line Aviation in North Carolina starting in August to complete my flight training to be hired as a pilot! It’s roughly six months of training. 

What’s a fun fact about you?

I went to circus camp for several years and can juggle on stilts.

What’s your favorite Whittier memory?

Presunrise lifts with the baseball program. 

What was your favorite class at Whittier?

Negotiations and Consumer Behavior.

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

The backyard of Turner Hall, because of the view and planes passing overhead. 

If you could give your first-year self some advice, what would it be?

You will not be the same person. You will experience the highest of highs and lowest of lows, but you will be stronger than ever.
