Whether you walk, take a bus, drive, or ride a bike to campus, if you don’t live in one of the residence halls you are a commuter student. About half of Whittier students commute to campus.
Whether you are a first time commuter or you are returning for another academic year, we want you to be successful and a part of the spirit, energy, and excitement of Whittier. These pages will help you find out how to stay connected to the College community while living off campus.
College Business Hours
Whittier College offices (Registrar, Business, Billing, Financial Aid, etc.) are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of the Department of Campus Safety, which operates 24/7.
Student Life Policies
Poets living off campus are still responsible to uphold the student policies and procedures set forth by Whittier's Student Life Division. Also, new and returning students who wish to live off campus must complete a Housing Exemption Form and submit it to the Office of Residential Life.
Each month the LEAP and Cultural Center host an opportunity for commuter students to meet-up and explore different parts of campus. The first one will be on Tuesday September, 7th in Club 88.
