Alumni Directory Project
In conjunction with trusted partner Publishing Concepts, Inc (PCI), the 125th Anniversary Edition of the Whittier College Alumni Directory is now underway, with a publication date set for fall 2014 and available for purchase in both print and CD format. This directory will replace the previous one, published in 2007.
To carry out this project—and to ensure we have the most up-to-date information on file for each of our alumni to include in the publication—provider PCI will be contacting you over the next several months by email, postcard, and phone to confirm or collect your current data. Please consider participating in this effort by picking up the phone and calling the toll-free number listed on the postcard or in the email, and answering a few simple questions. At that time, you can also reserve your copy of the new publication.
Below you will find a few Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that may answer any questions or concerns you have about this project. We have partnered with PCI (also known as Publishing Concepts) to produce our new alumni directory. PCI is a company located in Dallas, TX that publishes directories for educational institutions, fraternities, sororities and military organizations across the nation. This project enables Whittier College to receive important updates to our database, so we know more about our alumni and how we can better serve you and future alumni.
How do I know my information will only be used for directory purposes?
Whittier College has a contractual agreement with PCI that states:
a. The names, addresses, and information provided to PCI by Whittier College for the publication of the Alumni Directory will be held confidential by PCI, except to the extent that they are utilized in, or in the preparation of, the Directory and except as required by court order or law.
b. The Directory will be made available only to alumni of Whittier College. Upon completion of the project, PCI will return to Whittier College any and all electronic files that have been supplied by Whittier College or produced by PCI in connection with the production of the Directory.
I would like to verify and update my information. How may I do this?
If you have received a postcard or an email with a telephone number, you may call the toll-free number listed to speak with a dedicated representative for the Whittier College project. The representative will verify all the information we have on file for you and make any updates where needed. If you would like to contact the College directly with a question or concern, please call the Office of Alumni Relations at 562.907.4222.
When will I receive my directory?
The total duration of the project varies, but will take approximately one year to develop and publish. At this time, we anticipate distribution to occur in August of 2014.
I ordered a package containing the Discounted Companion Airline Certificate, but I haven’t received the postcard requesting verification of my address.
For those who purchase a package containing the Discounted Companion Airline Certificate, they will receive a postcard within 2 -3 weeks that will direct them to go to the PCI website to initiate the certificate process. There, they will enter their ID # and order # (shown on the postcard) and verify their mailing address. Alternatively, the buyer can call the toll free number on the postcard and leave a voicemail to initiate the certificate process.
After verifying your address you will receive a tri-fold certificate so you can begin to make your travel arrangements.

When you call to update your information, you can tell the representative what information you would prefer to have excluded. You may also communicate this information to the PCI customer service desk (1.800.395.4724) or to the Whittier College Office of Alumni Relations (562.907.4222).
